Position
Nagykanizsa lies in the south-western part of Hungary not far from the southern edge of Lake Balaton, in a beautiful woodland scenery, abounding in game and thermal waters. The town lies at the intersection of the M7 motorway and the European traffic corridors no. V. and no. V/B.

Corridors:
Since the European traffic corridors no V. and V/B. are running through the town, Nagykanizsa is considered to be a geographical link among the Balkan Peninsula and the northern regions of Italy. Furthermore; Croatia, Slovenia and Austria are accessible within 50-70 kilometers. Due to the aformentioned advantageous situation Nagykanizsa has been entitled as the Gateway to the Regions.
Main roads and the M7 motorway
In the area of the town three main roads are running:

from East to West: the main road 7 linking Budapest and Croatia, as well as the motorway M7

from North to South: here cross each other the main road 74 leading to Zalaegerszeg ang the main road 61 to Kaposvár.
Railway:
Nagykanizsa is an important meeting point of the national railway routes. The town has direct railway connections with Budapest, Pécs and Szombathely which are also economic and touristic hot spots of Hungary. The town is also connected to the international railway routes.
Airport:
In 35 kilometers from Nagykanizsa (20-25 minutes on the motorway) an airport in Sármellék can be found suitable for international cargo and personal traffic purposes. 5 kilometers from the town there is a sport airport, in 220 kms the Budapest airport and the airport of Wien, in 180 kms the Graz, in 120 kms the Zagreb airports are available.
